If you are ever in Jackson, Mississippi, during the third weekend in March, you will see one of the most interesting St. Patrick's Day parades in the country. Although it is technically the parade in the city, culminating each year is a group of red wig, green and fuchsia clad cheerleader-boot-stomping ladies and "ladies" of a certain age. These are the sweet potatoes Queens now an organization at the national Women in South and South-wannabe who follow the beliefs of Jill Conner Brown, potato head Sweet Queen and brilliant writer of humor redneck.
Queens preach that food is the best Southern food in the world, women are there to be loved by men, and the unique mystique of Southern women's centers around their force.
Men Redneck, you can learn from that. According to the queen of sweet potatoes, that's what women really want redneck:
1. To be fed. Redneck women find comfort in foods from the four major food groups: sweet, salty, fried and au gratin. This is partly because that's what they grew up with, and partly because it's exactly the kind of tasty food. If you're any kind of cooking, even a BBQ cook the food with food you cooked. 2. The perfect man.
